School zones may be getting bumpier

A Calgary alderman wants to see rumble strips in city school zones.

Jim Stevenson says he’s concerned about drivers speeding through school and playground zones.

He plans to bring the matter before council January 14th.

Stevenson tells The Calgary Herald he watches congestion from the breakfast nook of his home every day and he hears from parents and teachers as well.

He will be asking the transportation and transit committee to report back on a possible pilot project by May.
