Transportation in S.E. under the microscope

Transportation planners have been tasked with identifying the most congested roadways in the southeast, following approval of a new public transit plan for Calgary.
Politicians have already approved the start of dedicated bus lanes along the southeast transit way.
Alderman Shane Keating says it makes sense to identify trouble spots in order to make bus travel faster in the southeast but the challenge is finding funding.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi says they can start planning right away he’s very confident a grant will be coming soon from the province.
Nenshi tells The Calgary Sun, the next major step in improving public transportation in the city will be to build a southeast LRT and north central LRT.
