Oilfield activity seems to be ramping up, despite a dreary forecast from some observers.
The pace is still slower than last year, but is better than many expected.
67 per cent of the drilling rig fleet was working this week, down from 75 per cent the same time last year.
According to The Calgary Herald, activity dropped off significantly during Christmastime.
Typically, winter is the busiest time for the Canadian oilpatch, when frozen ground allows access to remote drilling sites.
