New laws that ban smoking in enclosed public areas can make a big difference in the number of children suffering asthma attacks.
That according to a new study from Imperial College London which found more than a 12 per cent drop in hospital admissions for childhood asthma attacks in the first year after the laws came into effect.
Before the smoking bans were enacted in Britain they’d been seeing a 2.2 per cent increase in asthma attacks among children each year.
The trend reversed immediately when the laws came in.
