A new survey by the province says Albertans are looking for the government to spend more efficiently.
But, the Dollars and Sense report also says Albertans are looking for the government to save more money each year, regardless of a deficit or surplus.
Some critics say the report is whitewashing spending issues.
Wildrose Finance Critic Rob Anderson says the report seems unscientific, and he thinks the PC’s have directed the questions to get the answers they really want.
Anderson tells 660News, the Wildrose will be releasing their own report shortly, outlining how they would be spending differently.
“The biggest piece is that there is low hanging fruit that we can do without. There are things with regards to corporate welfare, corporate grants, bonuses…” he explains.
More than 8,000 Albertans contributed to the Dollars and Sense report, through public consultations, open houses and surveys.
