A local woman is calling for Calgary Transit to do more to prevent harassment on the LRT.
Kathleen Angel says she witnessed a young woman being hassled on a CTrain earlier this week and suggests the city should make a smartphone app that will allow riders to report unsafe situations.
Angel says she was on a Saddletowne-bound train Tuesday afternoon when she saw a group of teens making loud racist comments and zeroing in on a young Muslim woman.
She says the help button was too far to reach, and other riders seemed reluctant to take action.
Angel tells The Calgary Herald an app equipped with GPS, so that officials could see where an incident was happening, would help in taking action in these situations.
