Calgary comic challenging .08 law

A Calgary comic challenging Alberta’s new impaired driving law says it “makes a mockery of justice.”
Dan Salahuk will be heading to court in Edmonton Tuesday to challenge the new rules, making it okay for suspects, that blow .08 or higher, to be stripped of their license until their case can be heard.
Salahuk was charged with failing or refusing to provide a breath sample last September, when he says his lung condition prevented him from doing so properly.
The comic tells The Calgary Sun, despite drinking earlier in the day, he was sober when pulled over by police, and should be “innocent until proven guilty.”
Justice Minister Jonathan Denis maintains the new laws are “completely constitutional” and has vowed to strongly defend any opposition.
