The cold weather has caused one city homeless shelter to let people stay inside from the freezing temperatures.
The Mustard Seed says normally the homeless have to leave the shelter during the day, but Tuesday they can stay where it’s warm.
Director of basic needs and services at the Mustard Seed, Marlow Ramsay tells 660News they add more staff to help with food services.
“Instead of providing as many bagged lunches for people who are leaving, they will provide a hot lunch in the shelter so they have to look ahead and make sure they have the food and stuff that they are going to need as well,” he says.
Ramsay says there is a crowd at the Mustard Seed but, it’s nowhere near capacity.
