City seeks citizen input on business plans and budgeting

Calgary City Council is coming to the end of a three year term and will begin a new four year cycle under new provincial legislation this fall.

But before an election, the City wants input from Calgarians on it’s program and budget planning for the last three years and if it needs work moving forward for a new term.

Program Manager of Strategic Planning and Adjustments for the city, John Haigh, tells 660News, Calgarians can take part in an online survey.

“This survey is saying, ‘okay is that process working for you?’ and we know there are people that have some expertise, but we also know that there are some average citizens that just really feel strongly and want to have a voice. We’re trying to be as open and as transparent as possible,” he says.

Haigh adds, citizens have an opportunity to provide their input to council on how dollars are spent and what the city’s priorities are.
