LRT stations now accepting debit and credit

A little more convenience for C-Train riders: all vending machines are now accepting both credit and debit cards as payment for tickets.
Calgary Transit’s Ron Collins tells 660News about why the shift happened.
“We’re certainly seeing a great influx of folks wanting to use them because they find the credit and debit cards are extremely convenient as opposed to digging for change or when they don’t have change, they can easily pull out their debit or credit card and make payments that way,” says Collins.
Up till now, only one machine per station had been modified to accept both forms of plastic when some ticket vending machines were retrofitted a year ago.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi is a fan of the move saying this is an example of transforming government and putting citizens first.
