More health violations shut down popular restaurant

A breakfast hot spot in the city has been shut down by Alberta Health Services.
A sign on the door of Nellie’s Cosmic Cafe on 17th Ave. S.W. says it was closed because of health violations.
The notice, dated Wednesday, also says it won’t reopen until the problems are fixed.
This isn’t the first time Nellie’s has found itself in hot water with health inspectors; its owner was fined nearly $62,000 in 2010 after repeated violations at five different locations.
Those problems had been chalked up to a high rate of staff turnover.
