War vet tribute on Memorial almost complete

A tribute to war veterans is expected to be complete next month on Memorial Drive.

The second phase of the $9-million “Landscape of Memory” project commemorates Canada’s efforts during war time.

The tribute, coined “Poppy Plaza” also provides a public space near the river.

Last weekend, a large steel poppy was put in place on 10th St. N.W. at the Louise Bridge.

The Calgary Herald reports, a grand opening for the memorial is being planned for later this year.
