Shawnee Slopes redevelopment moving forward

Calgary city council has now officially approved a re-development plan for the Shawnee slopes golf course.

The community has been fighting a plan with a developer to convert the now closed course in the southwest into homes.

Aldermen have given the green light to a plan to build the houses, capping it at 1,700 units.

Some aldermen want to look into changes that can be made to allow traffic to flow more smoothly in the area.
