Flyer bill of rights shot down

A bill of rights that would compensate airline passengers for cancelled or delayed flights does not seem to be in Canada’s future.
Conservative MPs did not back a private member’s bill pushing the idea, saying existing procedures provide good enough service, and that the bill could mean airlines would be sued more frequently.
The bill asked for passengers on delayed flights to be entitled to meals and accommodations, and travellers on cancelled flights to receive up to $600 in compensation.
The Calgary Herald reports similar laws already exist in Europe, Asia, and The Philippines.
