Nenshi responding to Griffiths comments

Mayor Naheed Nenshi is firing back after comments from Municipal Affairs Minister Doug Griffiths that called him a “Politicking peacock.”

Nenshi is accusing the province of “marginalizing” and “abusing” Calgary.

He says rather than addressing his legitimate concerns about the Calgary Metropolitan Growth Plan, Griffiths is stooping to handing out personal insults.

The mayor wants the province to force rural municipalities to become part of the plan through legislation, something they refuse to do.

Nenshi and Premier Alison Redford are set to meet later this month.
