A Calgary woman murdered in her Northeast home in 2001 was apparently considering a restraining order against her husband days before she was shot to death.
Corrine Belanger’s family law lawyer testified Tuesday in court, Belanger was afraid her estranged spouse may hurt her.
No formal charges have ever been filed against Belanger’s former common-law husband.
The Calgary Sun reports, her lawyer says Belanger was seeking primary custody of the couple’s two year old son.
Belanger’s husband’s friend, Barry David Brown is on trial for first degree murder in her death.
