The first ever Gluten Free Expo is coming to Calgary next month.
The craze has swept the continent, with everything from gluten-free chips and bread to gluten-free pasta.
Organizer Margaret Dron tells 660News, there are now even gluten-free skin products.
“People who are very sensitive can find that sometimes they do get a reaction to products containing gluten because gluten is a very common filler in a lot of skincare products, especially if you’re using something around the eye or anything that’s a little bit more susceptible to absorption into your system,” says Dron.
She says the Expo will provide health experts to answer questions about gluten and chefs to give cooking demonstrations. There will also be over a hundred booths where consumers can sample and buy new products.
The Gluten Free Expo goes March 24th at the Big Four Building at Stampede Park.
Tickets are available ahead of time online at www.glutenfreeexpo.ca.
Dron says only about 3500 tickets are available to this first event but she is hoping to see it grow into a bigger venue in the future.
Other Expos are in the works for Vancouver and Toronto.
