Okotoks residents turned out in droves last night to speak with province about a water strategy for the next 50 years.
The town is concerned about outgrowing its own water supply.
The community doesn’t have enough water for the population to expand beyond 27,500 people, despite the town lifting its population cap of 30,000.
Some residents would like to see changes to the way water licenses are issued.
One man tells The Calgary Sun, he feels its unfair Calgary gets free licenses, while Okotoks has to “pay through the nose.”
