Mayerthorpe anniversary

Sunday marks a sombre anniversary in Alberta.

March 3rd marks eight years since four Mounties were gunned down near Mayerthorpe.

Constables Brock Myrol, Anthony Gordon, Leo Johnston and Peter Schiemann were ambushed by James Roszko, who also died in the gun fight.

The Mounties had been there to search his farm for stolen property and a marijuana grow op.

The massacre was the greatest single loss of life in the RCMP since the Northwest Rebellion of 1885.
