Winter storm warning blankets southern Alberta

Mother Nature is getting ready to make up for the lack of winter in February as the Pineapple Express makes its way to Calgary.

The city remains under a winter storm warning that could bring as much as 15 centimetres of snow to the city.

Despite officially being over as of March 1st winter is making a come back and in a big way.

Calgary could be walloped by more snow in one day than it’s received all of last month.

As much as 40 centimetres could fall in the mountains by Monday and in town we can expect to shovel 10 to 15 centimetres off our side walks.

The warning covers a large chunk of southern Alberta and wind gusts and blowing snow could hamper travel plans along area highways and visibility is expected to be less than one kilometre.
