Alberta Health Services is hiking parking rates at hospitals effective April first.
The increases will be phased in over three years.
“AHS understands parking is an additional cost to our staff, patients and visitors,” said Penny Rae, Senior Vice President, Capital Management. “Which is why every effort is made to limit the impact of parking fee increases.”
There will be a break if you buy a monthly pass and compassionate passes are supplied to people with financial hardships.
AHS says it’s adjusting rates to reflect current market conditions and cover rising costs, but a lot of patients and visitors are likely to not be happy having to pay more.
