Daring move prevents a potential house fire

A brave and quick thinking neighbour helped stop a car fire from spreading to a nearby home.

Fire crews were called out this afternoon at around 4 p.m. to the 200 block of Copperfield Manor S.E.

Battalion chief Ernie Molineaux tells 660 news the neighbour heroically jumped into the burning vehicle.

“He actually backed it up away from the house while it was burning to keep the house from going up and then the fire crews arrived and extinguished the car.”

The owner of the vehicle was on hand trying after recently returning home in the car.

No one was hurt but the Mustang GT was heavily damaged.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the blaze.
