Overnight downtown shooting

For the second day in a row, police are investigating a shooting.
Officers believe a fight began between two groups of people early Sunday morning and shots were fired in front of the Mac’s convenience store on 1st street and 11th avenue southwest.
Whoever fired the shots, then fled the area in a vehicle.
Police say it doesn’t appear anybody was hurt and they have recovered a pair of shell casings from the scene.
One of those bullets struck a vehicle in the store’s parking lot the second hit the store itself.
Police believe they do know who was involved in the incident and it’s only a matter of time before a suspect is caught.
Saturday morning, a woman discovered numerous bullet holes in the side of her house in the NE community of Monterey.
Police then determined several other homes, businesses and a nearby church were also struck by bullets and found about 30 casings in all.
Officers blocked off the area of Catalina Blvd and California Blvd NE and spent the day going door to door, talking with neighbours in the community.
So far, no arrests in either shooting incident.
