It’s been just over ten months since the death of a toddler from injuries she suffered at a Calgary day home but police are still trying to determine what happened.
21 month-old Mackenzy Woolfsmith died May 3rd, 2012, from blunt force injuries.
Initial reports to authorities were that she’d fallen down some stairs at the day home on Elgin Heath S.E.
However, Homicide Staff Sgt. Doug Andrus tells the Calgary Sun, the active investigation to determine the cause and manner of her death continues.
He says a child’s anatomy is different than an adult’s so there are different tests that can take months or even up to a year before the results are available.
Andrus says the day home operator has been cooperating with the investigation.
