Grizzlies in Banff waking up

It’s a sure sign spring is coming.

Grizzly bears are expected to start emerging from hibernation in coming weeks at Banff National Park.

Parks Canada officials say large male grizzlies usually emerge from their winter slumber around mid to late March.

Both male and female bears went into their dens last fall much earlier than they have in past years, some as early as October.

According to The Calgary Herald, researchers have been able to track the animals using GPS collars.
