A fire forced the evacuation of several residents from an apartment building in the southwest Monday night.
Crews responded to a call at a building on Waverley Dr. S.W. just before 11 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, they were told the flames were put out but quickly noticed smoke was still present throughout the building.
The blaze was confined to a single bedroom in the basement and is still under investigation.
All other residents were allowed to return to their apartments.
