A robbery in northwest Calgary overnight sent two men to hospital with stab wounds, one of them in serious condition.

Police say they were walking in the 7900 block of Bowness Road around 12 a.m. Thursday.

Two men approached the pair and tried to rob them.

They refused to hand anything over; that’s when one of the attackers stabbed them, stole a backpack and then took off on foot.

Police are still investigating.
