Crews pull body from crevasse near Lake Louise

The body of a man from Abbotsford, B.C. has now been pulled from a crevasse near Lake Louise.

Rescue teams made it to the Wapta Traverse in Yoho National Park today and had to shovel through several metres of snow inside the crevasse, after a break in the weather.

No one had heard from Mark Taylor since his beacon went dead almost a week ago.Taylor was skiing in the backcountry with two others, who were rescued last week.

They are all said to be experienced skiers who were prepared for the elements.

The rescue team and personnel are off the mountain and the body has been transferred to B.C. authorities.
