Black box no help in determining cause of Antarctica crash

Investigators say a black box recovered from a deadly plane crash in Antarctica won’t provide any answers to what caused the aircraft to go down.

Calgarian Mike Denton and another man were killed when the Kenn Borek air flight crashed in the Transantarctic Mountains in January.

While the box is supposed to record on a thirty minute loop while a flight is in progress, officials say a recording from a flight in December is the only thing that can be heard.

The Globe and Mail reports officials have ruled out mechanical failure as a cause of the crash.
