City to study Calgary-Chestermere transitway

City officials are looking into a speedier transitway between Calgary and Chestermere.
Politicians have approved a proposal to study the 17th Ave S.E. transitway from Stoney Trail to the east city limits.
Alderman Gian-Carlo Carra tells The Calgary Sun it’s a move towards Calgary becoming “the city that grows up, rather than grows out.”
Carra says it’s a good idea to connect walkable neighbourhoods with high quality transit.
The study will look into public input, planning and costs of the project.
