The resident of a townhouse in the deep south wont be returning to her home after a basement fire.
Around 6:30 p.m. Monday, fire crews were called to the 100 block of Queensland Drive in the southeast.
When firefighters arrived they saw smoke coming from the basement of a unit in a multi-family townhouse complex and quickly extinguished the fire.
Damage was moderate and contained to the one unit.
The female resident was not home at the time of the fire and officials say she’s made alternate accommodations for the night.
The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
