City not yet ready for street sweeping

The sun is out, and most of the snow has melted, but the city of Calgary isn’t ready just yet to launch its spring street sweeping program.

Jennifer Thompson-Goldberg from the Roads Department tells 660News, they like to give people time to prepare for no parking bans during the sweeping campaign.

“We are not technically starting until mid-April. Of course if the weather stays really nice, that could change.” She says.

They will have the occasional sweeper out doing some cleanup, and pothole crews will be trying to stay ahead of street craters that pop up this time of year.
