Wounded bunny on the mend

A hare spotted in southeast Calgary on Sunday with an arrow through its chest is now recovering in a wildlife hospital.

The Alberta Institute for Wildlife conservation says they were able to locate the animal after receiving numerous calls from residents who saw the bunny.

Spokesperson Diane Wittner tells The Calgary Herald someone shot the creature with a “hobby arrow” commonly used for target practice.

Once the rabbit has recovered, it will be released back into the wild.

Police say charges could be laid against whoever is responsible.
