Banff marathon promises scenery, history

Running enthusiasts are being asked to lace up their shoes and take in some breathtaking scenery in Banff.

The Banff marathon, organized by LifeSport Coaching, is taking place June 23rd.

The Calgary Sun reports, each stage of the unique marathon will take runners through a different chapter of the Bow Valley Parkway’s history.

Demand to participate in the event is already high and organizers have limited the number of runners to 1500.

A spokesperson for Banff Lake Louise Tourism says they’re looking forward to welcoming visitors in June.
