CPS to gradually roll out new cop cars

Calgary police are excited to cruise around in style.

City cop cars are getting a makeover, with new vehicles replacing the old Crown Victorias.

Inspector Ken Thrower says it will take 4-5 years for the entire fleet to get an overhaul.

“We’re expecting new vehicles in sometime late July, August, and they’ll start rolling out, but you will see new black and white vans, they are being replaced.” He says.

Thrower says after developing some test models, they’ve chosen the
Ford Taurus for their new cruisers.
