Dog killed in southeast home invasion

Police continue to investigate a violent southeast home invasion Friday morning.

Before 5 a.m. police headed to the home in the 500 block of 68th street where it appears several people went into the home with armed weapons.

Duty inspector Rick Tuza says the family’s dog was killed in the incident.

“Sounds like it was trying to defend the family, and the offenders attacked it,” says Tuza.

Tuza adds police are currently interviewing family members who witnessed the incident.
