Calgary’s sixth homicide victim identified

Calgary police have identified the city’s sixth homicide victim as 26-year-old Monisha Sidhu.

She was found in the 200 block of Templegreen Drive after an alleged fight with her husband.

Investigators say Sidhu was dragged for several metres after becoming entangled in her seatbelt when she tried to flee her husband’s vehicle.

Investigators say the woman then tried to get help from a nearby home when she was beaten and left to die.

An autopsy has been completed and the death is being declared Calgary’s sixth homicide of the year.

30-year-old Gagandeep Sidhu is charged with first degree murder.
