Scoring will stay in city soccer games

A proposal to eliminate scoring in U12 soccer has been shut down by players, parents and coaches.

A survey by the Calgary Minor Soccer Association says 86 per cent of those who responded have rejected the plan.

The idea has been floated to associations across the country as a way of focusing on skill development rather than winning or losing.

CMSA executive director Daryl Leinweber tells The Calgary Sun, it looks like right now nothing will be changed.

A similar survey sent out by the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association found 99 per cent were opposed to the idea.
