The Calgary Board of Education is facing questions about why fewer teachers are filling their schools while enrolment continues to soar.
Education advocates are expressing concern as the board prepares to release its 2013-2014 budget this week.
According to The Calgary Herald there are 2.4 per cent fewer teachers than five years ago, but class sizes have risen by an average of two kids.
Chief Superintendent of the CBE, Naomi Johnson, will only say class sizes remain “good” and “dollars are being directed towards schools.”
