AHS looks to expanding veterans’ parking program

Alberta Health Services is now looking at expanding the veterans parking program they threatened to cancel just a week ago.

AHS admitted they made a mistake in deciding to cancel a program that allows the Calgary Poppy Fund to purchase discounted hospital parking passes.

The Calgary Herald reports those passes are used free of charge by veterans going for treatment or visiting loved ones.

Health officials are now planning to meet with the Poppy Fund to discuss expanding it province-wide.
