Runners and walkers will get down to their skivvies in support of a good cause on June 1st for the 7th annual Underwear Affair.
It’s to support research and development of new cancer therapies in Alberta.
The Underwear Affair is a wild and fun-filled fundraiser that aims to take the awkward out of spreading the word about screening and prevention of cancers that hit below the belt.
Alison Lennox was at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre Wednesday, encouraging new registrations for the event.
She’ll run for the first time this year. She says, dressing up and gearing down makes it easier to broach a topic that might be embarrassing for some.
“I love to run. I don’t like wearing pants, so it’s a great event for me,” says Lennox.
The Underwear Affair has raised more than $9 million in Alberta over the last six years.
