Low income and poor education can make you sick, according to a discussion at a local healthcare town hall Tuesday night.
The panel by the Canadian Medical Association in Calgary is busy discussing the root social causes of poor health.
CMA President Dr. Anna Reid tells The Calgary Sun, 50 per cent of healthcare outcomes are determined by things like your income level, education level and whether you have adequate housing and food.
Reid says there is a need to talk about these factors, and what we can do to make a difference.
