Man dies in parachute jump

A man is dead following a parachute jump north of Stony Plain.
Saturday, around 7:30 p.m., the 49-year old was found unresponsive following the jump.
He was resuscitated, but then declared dead when he arrived at hospital.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
The man’s name will not be released, but police say he had extensive parachuting experience having completed thousands of jumps in his life.
Foul play is not believed to be a factor in the death.
