The Calgary Fire Department has lifted the current Level III fire ban in time for this May long weekend.
The ban was put in place Saturday, may 11th due to dry, warm winds and low humidity.
You can now use backyard fire pits, camp stoves, charcoal barbecues as well as recreational campfires in city park pits or stoves.
“The recent moisture and lower temperatures have culminated in the decision to lift the ban,” said acting Fire Chief Tom Sampson. “We want to thank Calgarians for their adherence to the ban over the past week.”
A Fire Advisory remains in place and people are being reminded that there is still a risk of grass fires.
