Clock ticks down to annual Timeraiser event

Those looking to add some art to their office or home are being asked to circle June 13th on thier calendar.

That is the day for the 8th annual Calgary Timeraiser event.

In the first seven years, Calgary Timeraiser has pumped more than $145 thousand into the careers of emerging artists, while raising almost 17 thousand volunteer hours in the community.

Organizer Megan Zimmerman tells 660News, instead of using cash to bid on a peice of art, people volunteer their time to a local charitable group.

After their volunteer commitment is fulfilled they are given the art piece they wagered on.
