Calgary Police are thanking the public for their help in tracking down a vehicle believed to be involved in a hit and run Sunday afternoon.
Police say a couple witnesses followed the vehicle after the collision along centre street northwest and kept CPS informed through Twitter.
Seargeant Colin Foster says while they like the help, this is not always a safe decision.
“Without the information they provided to us we would not be in the position having dealt with the person responsible for this collision.” Again we would like to the thank the public for coming forward, but bear in mind your own safety. If you are going to get involved make sure you are safe,” says Foster.
Two men, on a motorcycle, were tossed from the bike and sent to hospital when they crashed into the side of a cube van that ignored a stop sign and turned on to Centre Street in front of them.
Both men are still in hospital, one had critical injuries.
The 32-year old van driver has been questioned, but no charges have yet been laid.
