Sands murder suspect waiting to stand trial

A murder suspect is waiting to hear whether he’ll stand trial in the death of an Okotoks town councillor’s daughter.
Amy Sands, 27, was shot dead inside a Dover-area garage in southeast Calgary last August.
Police believe a man, evicted from the residence, returned with a gun and fired several shots; Sands was not the intended target.
The Calgary Sun reports, a provincial court judge said Monday she wasn’t prepared to make a quick decision on whether there is enough evidence to go to trial.
Jesse George Hill is charged with second degree murder.
