Calgary’s Catholic School Board has passed a budget that plans to add more teachers to try and accommodate a rising student population.
The board okayed a $532-million budget Wednesday night, promising 40 more teachers in classrooms next year.
The Calgary Herald reports, the budget also predicts an increase of more than 1,700 students.
While there are fears of overcrowding, the board says high enrolment also brings more money from the province.
