Fireworks and First Nations Drummers marked the official opening of The Bow Tuesday afternoon.
Although Encana and Cenovus Energy employees have been working there for months, a celebration downtown unveiled the 58 storey, 1.4 billion dollar skyscraper to the public.
The bow is the largest office tower in all of western Canada.
It is home to the longest and largest underground parkade west of Toronto and has three sky gardens with views of south Calgary, including the Calgary Tower.
Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi says the entire project, including the art, is a huge icon for Calgary and a statement about who we are.
The project was proposed in 2006 with groundbreaking the following year.
The Bow was ranked in the top 10 architectural projects of 2012.
