The body of a climber killed in Ecuador is being returned home to Calgary.
Danielle Kendall died Sunday when she was struck by a large piece of ice, while climbing Cotopaxi volcano.
The 22-year-old had just completed a degree in chemical engineering from the Shulich School of Engineering and was to graduate next week.
The Calgary Herald reports her family issued a statement Tuesday, thanking everyone who expressed their condolences.
Kendall’s family says they will likely announce plans for services at the end of the week.
